Grace Adong’s solitary effort proved decisive as Bukedea Comprehensive Secondary School edged Masaka Secondary School 1-0 in a fiercely contested round of 32 clash at the ongoing Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Girls Football Tournament in Mukono.

Adong struck as early as the 15th minute, delivering what would stand as the match-winning goal in a gripping encounter that lived up to its billing.

Her composed finish separated the two sides in a tightly balanced contest, sealing Bukedea’s progression to the next round.

In another compelling round of 32 fixture, tournament favourites Boni Concili underlined their title credentials with a commanding 2-0 victory over Kisozi Seed Secondary School.

Rinah Ariho broke the deadlock in the first half before Sheillah Mungutim doubled the advantage after the break, ensuring a comfortable passage forward.

Elsewhere, defending champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana continued their dominant run with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Kibingo Girls SS.

Nkoma SS edged Kakungulu Memorial 1-0 in a closely fought tie, while Moyo Star High School delivered an attacking masterclass to dismantle Amazing Grace 5-2.

Rines Secondary School showcased their firepower in a 5-1 victory over Bunya SS, as Uganda Martyrs High School advanced via a dramatic 5-4 penalty shootout win following a goalless stalemate against Bugisu High School.

St Charles Kasasa also progressed on penalties, overcoming Light High School Seguku 6-5 after another barren draw in regulation time.

Latifah Mixed secured a thrilling 4-2 win against St Andrews Ruhindi, while Kawempe Muslim Secondary School maintained their composure to defeat Panyadoli Self Help 2-0.

Amus College School registered a comfortable 3-0 victory over Highland SS, as Jinja Progressive dispatched Lugazi Homestone Secondary School by a similar scoreline.

In one of the most entertaining fixtures, Standard High School-Zzana narrowly overcame Laminias College Kyotera 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller, while Jinja Comprehensive wrapped up the round with a dominant 5-0 win against Katooke Modern.
