Two Rwandan side’s APR and National Police were crowned champions of the 2023 KAVC international volleyball championship.

The three day NSSF sponsor tourney   climaxed on Sunday, 6th August at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala.

Rwanda National Police beat Rukinzo 3-0 to win the men’s championship. They won the first 25-19, 25-19 and 25-13 in the best of five to smile home with a gold.

They dethroned the 2022 edition champions APR who didn’t take part in this year’s edition. APR beat Uganda’s KAVC in last year’s men’s final.

Whilst, in the greatest evening’s entertainment, APR successfully defeated Uganda’s Ndejje University to defend the women title.

The champions APR won by 3-0 (25-16, 25-18) before crowning it all in the third set by a 25-20 score.

In the third place classification play off, KCB Nkumba won 3-2 against Seroma Seroma Girls.

South Sudan’s Cobra VC ranked 3rd in men  after their triumph against Tanzania’s KIU in a massive 3-0 win.

KAVC remains the most successful men’s club in the history of the tournament with a record seven titles as KAVC women stay dominant in women with 8 titles.
