ES Setif midfielder Amir Karaoui believes his team can overcome Al Ahly and earn a spot in the CAF Champions League final.

Setif kicked off their Champions League journey in Group B where they qualified for the quarterfinals in the second place behind Raja Casablanca.

In their top eight encounter, they successfully eliminated Tunisian giants Esperance, beating them at home 1-0.

Speaking ahead of the first leg clash, Setif midfielder Amir Karaoui stated that he believes in his team’s chances despite the difficulty of the game.

“Our opponents are very strong but so are we, that’s why we are in the semifinals,” Karaoui said.

“We are ready to make Algerians happy and we have our eyes set on the final. It won’t be easy but we believe in ourselves.”

Meanwhile, Al Ahly qualified in the second place in Group A behind Mamelodi Sundowns, before knocking out Raja in the quarterfinals.

The two teams will now come face to face for a spot in the prestigious tournament’s finale.

The first leg will take place on Saturday May 7th in Cairo while the second leg will be played a week later in Algeria.
