Arua Hill SC put a commanding performance as they registered an emphatic 3-1 win over Tooro United Football Club in the startimes Uganda Premier League encounter at Barifa Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A first half goal from Alfred Leku handed the Kongolo Boys a 1-0 lead in the break during their first back-to-back league win on the road.

It was a similar story after the re-start, with Samuel Ssekamatte and Innocent Media bagging the second and the third to register our 4th win of the season.

Tooro United grabbed a consolation goal through Mwanje Hamis who converted from the spot-kick as they succumbed to their 7th defeat of the season.

Arua Hill started the better side with Alfred Leku breaking the deadlock for the hosts through a brilliant header off Andama Junior’s corner-kick delivery just two minutes from kick-off.

Moments later Samuel Ssekamatte could have scored another two goals for the Kongolo Boys.

The first chance saw Ssekamatte’s shot cross over the bar after another fine delivery from Andama Junior who had a beautiful debut for the Leopards since joining from FUFA Big League entity Calvary FC. Before striking wide off Alfred Leku’s cross in the 10 minutes.

Six minutes later Sharif Ssaka could have doubled the lead for the Kongolo Boys but his goal from Samuel Ssekamatte’s assist was ruled out for an offside.

The visitors only chance in the break came through Julius Pirwot who failed to level matters after tapping over the cross bar off an assist from Mubiru Ronald as Arua Hill SC settled for a 1-0 lead in the break.

Nine minutes from the break Samuel Ssekamatte doubled the lead for the hosts after tapping home Matovu’s cross for a 2-0 lead.

Nsubuga Mark came close to reducing the deficit but his effort was denied by Leopards custodian Rogers Omedwa in the 63 minutes.

Arua Hill Sports Club dominated the possession and should have scored when Mubiru’s strike from outside the box went wide.

Toha Rashid also missed to add the third after heading over the cross bar from Atendele Geriga’s brilliant free kick delivery in the 85 minutes.

Substitute Innocent Media added the third with a solo effort from a close range for a 3-0 lead in the second minutes of the added time.

Moments later Mwanje Hamis pulled one back after converting from the spot-kick but that was not enough as the Leopards hung on to settle for a 3-1 win over Tooro United.

The result lifts Arua Hill Sports Club to sixth place on the league table with 13 points after 8 games.

The Kongolo Boys are back in action on Friday 10, December 2021 away to Bright Stars Football Club.
