KCCA FC, Express FC will meet in the Uganda Premier league emphatic and famous Kampala derby on Wednesday, 17th February 2021 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Express is currently unbeaten in six games this season, gaining three wins and draws, a relatively fair form compared to counterparts KCCA FC who are yet to win a game since 11th December 2020 with a 3-0 win against Mbarara City at Lugogo.

The 13 time league champions KCCA FC have lost three games in a row against SC Villa, URA FC and Bul FC as all ended with a similar 2-1 score.

Both sides (Express and KCCA) played for a one all draw in February 2020 at Philp Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, each finding the back of the net through first half penalties.

Match-day seven comes at a time when KCCA FC are in the 9th place on the 16 team log with only nine points out of the possible 18 in six game, whilst, Express FC are 4th with 12 points gained from three wins and draws.

Teams’ news.
Express FC tactician Wasswa Bbosa has a fully fit squad for today’s game selection.

KCCA FC faces a set back as they will be without Sadat Anaku, Dominic Ayella and Sunday Opio due to licensing problem.

Midfielder Julius Poloto, Denis Iguma and Gift Ali are are also expected to be sidelined as they are still recovering from injuries.

KCCA FC will also miss the services of Steven Sserwadda, Joseph Bukenya Kizza, Joseph Kafumbe, Musa Ramathan, Ssenyonjo and Andrew Kawooya who are currently at national duties with the Hippos in Mauritania for U20 AFCON finals.

What Managers said in pre-match press conference
KCCA FC tactician Mike Hillary Mutebi said, “We will take the game so serious given its magnitude and history around it.
It is a derby and derbies are won by teams that show the biggest character on the day. We need to show that we want to win so that we can pick three points.

Express FC’S Wasswa Bbosa, “We’ve continued from where we stopped, based on our last game Vs URA, we failed to convert many chances although we won the game so concentration in training has been on scoring and I’m sure we shall do so. KCCA FC is a decent team but we’re prepared to fight and maintain our unbeaten run but most importantly get the maximum points.”
