KAMPALA — Tamis Shafiga opened her URA FC scoring account in style, coming off the mark in the Lady Tax Collectors’ 2–0 victory over She Makerere FC in the FUFA Women’s Super League at Nakivubo on Saturday.
The former Amus College forward, who joined URA ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, put the finishing touch on a convincing response from URA after their opening-day setback.
Elizabeth Nakigozi gave URA the breakthrough in the first half before Shafiga struck after the interval to seal the three points.
The victory was URA’s first of the campaign following a 3–0 defeat to KCCA FC in their season opener.
The result lifts the Lady Tax Collectors into early-season contention, while She Makerere remain searching for their first points.
URA will now turn their attention to a trip to Katushabe Stadium in Masindi on Saturday, October 17, where they will face Lady Doves.
She Makerere, meanwhile, will have another difficult assignment at home against KCCA FC on the same day.
Namanda double delivers She Corporate’s first win
Elsewhere, Jesca Namanda was the difference-maker as She Corporate FC registered their first victory of the season, edging newcomers Jinja United 2–1 at Iganga Ssaza Grounds.
The Sharks’ joint top scorer from last season opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 40th minute, after Lydia Namaseruka was fouled inside the box.
Namanda then completed her brace in the 60th minute, turning home a corner delivered by Rebecca Nakato to put She Corporate in command.
The win moves She Corporate to three points, while Jinja United remain without a point after two matches in their first season in the top flight.
The newcomers began their campaign with a 3–0 defeat to defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, before suffering another setback against She Corporate.

Defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC were unable to maintain their winning start after being held to a 0–0 draw by She Maroons FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
At Lugogo, St. Noa and KCCA FC also settled for a share of the spoils.
Matchday Two continues on Sunday, with Uganda Martyrs hosting Rines at Lugogo, while Amus College entertain Lady Doves.
