IGANGA — She Corporate FC finally opened their account in the 2026/27 FUFA Women’s Super League with a hard-fought 2–1 victory over newcomers Jinja United at Iganga Ssaza Grounds on Saturday evening.
Last season’s joint top scorer Jesca Namanda provided the decisive touch, scoring twice to guide the Sharks to their first three points of the campaign.
Namanda broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, calmly converting from the penalty spot after Lydia Namaseruka was brought down inside the area.
The forward completed her brace shortly after the hour mark, meeting a corner from Rebecca Nakato in the 60th minute to double She Corporate’s advantage.
Jinja United pulled one back, but She Corporate held firm to secure a crucial victory and move to three points in sixth place.
The result also offered She Corporate a swift response to their opening-day setback, when they suffered a narrow 1–0 defeat to St. Noa GFC.
For Jinja United, however, the transition to top-flight football remains challenging.
The newcomers have now suffered defeats in both of their opening matches, following their 3–0 loss to defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
Kawempe surrender perfect start
Defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC were unable to maintain their winning start, being held to a goalless draw by She Maroons FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Elsewhere, St. Noa and KCCA FC also shared the points at Lugogo, while URA FC bounced back strongly from their opening-day defeat to register a 2–0 victory over She Makerere at Nakivubo.
Elizabeth Nakigozi and Shylyne Shafiga were on target for URA, who were beaten 3–1 by KCCA in their opening fixture.
Next fixtures
She Corporate will return to action on 17 October, facing She Maroons at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Jinja United, still searching for their first Super League point, will travel to Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, on 18 October to face St. Noa.
Matchday Two continues on Sunday with Uganda Martyrs hosting Rines at Lugogo, while Amus College welcome Lady Doves.
