Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) will unveil its women’s football team as the centrepiece of a multi-faceted season-opening event at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, under the theme “Bridging Milestones and Community Spirit.”
The launch marks a significant expansion of KCCA FC’s football structure and comes as the club moves to align with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) licensing requirements, which require all Uganda Premier League clubs to fully own and operate women’s teams from the 2026/27 season.

The KCCA Women FC launch is expected to provide the first official glimpse of the club’s women’s squad, with the team, technical staff and leadership taking centre stage before fans, sponsors, media and other stakeholders.
Joint remarks from the CEOs of KCCA FC and KCCA Women FC will follow, outlining the clubs’ vision for the development of women’s football and the partnership between the two entities.
The historic unveiling will form part of a broader celebration bringing together KCCA leadership, the club’s board and management, technical staff, players, sponsors, members of the Nakawa community and supporters.

The gates will open at 11:00am, with pre-event activities beginning at 11:30am. Fans will participate in a series of community-oriented games, including short relays, sack races and 100-metre races.
At 12:30pm, the entertainment will continue with a curtain-raiser between the Nakawa Market Leadership XI and the KCCA FC Fans, further strengthening the club’s connection with its immediate community.
The main football spectacle will begin at 3:00pm, when KCCA FC’s senior men’s side takes on the Nakawa Market Best XI in a special celebratory fixture.
Beyond the football, the event will carry a strong community responsibility component, with 100 per cent of the gate proceeds from the match earmarked for addressing an urgent community need within Nakawa Market.

Another major highlight will be the unveiling of “The Impala,” KCCA FC’s brand-new club bus. City Hall leadership will formally hand over the vehicle to KCCA FC management at pitch side before the bus leads a celebratory procession through Nakawa, giving supporters and residents an opportunity to interact with the club.
The celebrations will culminate in the unveiling of KCCA FC’s 2026/27 playing kits, with the KCCA Executive Director and the Lord Mayor of Kampala expected to preside over the jersey reveal.
The full men’s playing squad and technical team will subsequently be presented to supporters, partners and the media ahead of the new campaign.
The occasion will also showcase KCCA FC’s infrastructure development, with Kampala City leadership, board members, sponsors and selected fans taken on a tour of the stadium’s newly completed facilities, including new staff offices, home and away dressing rooms, player hostels, kitchen and dining facilities.
With the launch of KCCA Women FC at its heart, the event represents more than a traditional season opener.
It combines women’s football development, community engagement, infrastructure investment, commercial partnerships and team-building as KCCA FC prepares for the 2026/27 season.
