Boni Consili Girls Secondary School produced a spirited comeback to edge St. Noa Girls Secondary School and book their place in the final of the 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Girls’ Football Championship.
The pulsating semi-final, staged at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, ended 2-2 in regulation time before Boni Consili prevailed 3-2 in a tense penalty shootout.
St. Noa struck first through Martha Babirye, whose opener handed them a first-half advantage and early control of proceedings.
However, Boni Consili emerged from the break with renewed purpose, restoring parity when Peace Muduwa found the back of the net in the second half.
Momentum swiftly shifted in Boni Consili’s favour as Rinah Ariho unleashed a stunning strike just two minutes later to turn the contest on its head and give her side a 2-1 lead.
Yet St. Noa responded almost immediately, with Evelyn Katusiime levelling matters to set up a dramatic finale.
With neither side able to find a decisive goal, the contest was settled from the penalty spot.
Despite misses from Sheila Mungutimu and Ariho, Boni Consili held their nerve, capitalising on St. Noa’s profligacy as Grace Kawino, Katusiime and Jennifer Onyango all failed to convert.
The victory carries added significance for Boni Consili, serving as emphatic redemption after last year’s heavy 4-1 semi-final defeat to the same opponents in Bukedea.
They now await the winner of the second semi-final between Rines Secondary School and Amus College, which is underway at the same venue.
Meanwhile, despite their heartbreak, St. Noa—alongside fellow semi-finalists Rines, Amus College, and Boni Consili—have all secured qualification for the forthcoming FEASSA Games scheduled for August in Morogoro, Tanzania.
