The 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys’ Football Championship bursts into life on Monday, 11th May, with Lira Town College host the country’s premier secondary school football spectacle.
A total of 64 schools have assembled at the games’ village—Lira Town College—setting the stage for a high-stakes competition that will ultimately determine Uganda’s representatives at the 2026 FEASSA Games in Morogoro this August.
Only the top four teams will secure qualification.
The opening day promises a packed schedule, with 32 matches spread across multiple venues in Lira city.


Fixtures are staggered across four kick-off windows—9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM—each accommodating up to eight games.
Early action at 9:00 AM features a compelling tie as Kampala region runners-up Kyadondo SS face Kigumba Intensive SS at Lira P7 grounds.
Elsewhere, Madina Islamic lock horns with Kitgum Standard at Dr Obote II ground, while Lira Town College take on NUMASA SS. Ngora High School will also be in action against Kitara SS at Lango College III.
Attention shifts to the 11:00 AM slot where defending champions Buddo SS begin their title defence against Teso College Aloet at the host venue.

Other fixtures at this time include Mengo SS against Ibanda SS, as well as Bukedea Comprehensive School South taking on PP Newton at Lango College I.
The afternoon session at 2:00 PM offers more intriguing matchups. Standard High School Ndejje, champions of the Luweero region, will face Mukono Kings at Lira P7 ground.
Busia SS meet St Kagwa Bushenyi High at Dr Obote II, while Bukedea Comprehensive School North square off with St Mary’s Boarding School at Lango College III.
The day’s action concludes with the 4:00 PM fixtures, highlighted by Amus College School against Trinity College Abilomino at Dr Obote II ground.
Seroma Christian High School will battle Lubiri SS at Lira UTC, while hosts’ representatives Mentor SS take on Nkoma SS at Lango College III.
All participating schools reported on Sunday, 10th May, ahead of the official opening ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, 12th May—marking the formal commencement of what is widely regarded as Uganda’s most competitive and talent-rich schools’ football tournament.
