The 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National U17 Netball Championship has reached a pulsating semi-final stage following a series of gripping and high-intensity quarter-final encounters.

In what proved to be a mouth-watering Wakiso Zone derby, St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School–Kitende showcased resilience and composure to edge past Madina Islamic Secondary School 25–22, sealing their place among the final four after a fiercely contested battle.

Another electrifying Wakiso derby saw Kajjansi Progressive narrowly overcome Kawanda Secondary School in a nail-biting 24–23 victory, underlining the razor-thin margins that have defined this year’s competition.

Light College Katikamu delivered a commanding performance, dispatching Namagabi Secondary School 25–20 in a result that confirmed their growing credentials as serious title contenders.

Meanwhile, Hamdan Islamic produced the most dominant display of the round, overpowering Amazing Grace Secondary School 35–18 in a one-sided affair to comfortably book their semi-final berth.

With the stakes now higher than ever, the semi-finals promise equally thrilling action. Kajjansi Progressive will face Hamdan Islamic in what is expected to be a fiercely competitive showdown.

In another tantalising Wakiso Zone clash, St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School–Kitende will lock horns with Light College Katikamu, setting up a blockbuster encounter between two in-form sides.

All semi-final matches are scheduled to take place this afternoon at Our Lady of Africa, where the race for national glory intensifies.
