Police FC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Maroons in a thrilling Uganda Premier League encounter at the Kiira Road playground in Kamwokya.

Forward Badia Djuma Ikamba was the hero of the day, scoring a brace to take his season tally to four goals.

Ikamba opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a composed finish after a fine move involving Denis Kalanzi.

He doubled the lead just before the half-hour mark when a long ball from defender Richard Matovu was mishandled by the Maroons goalkeeper, allowing Ikamba to pounce and make it 2-0.

Maroons managed to pull one back in the 42nd minute through Rogers Kiwanuka, who finished neatly from a Jackson Nunda cut-back.

The visitors pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half, but Police FC’s defense held firm to secure all three points.

The win lifts Police FC to fourth place on the log with eight points from five matches, while Maroons drop to 12th with four points from four games.

Ikamba’s brace has seen him rise to the top of the scoring charts, and Police FC will be looking to build on this momentum in their next match.
