The Finance Trust Bank 2025/26 Women Super League got off to a thrilling start on Friday evening, with Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and Kampala Queens FC sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Kawempe grounds.

The match was a highly anticipated encounter, with fans turning out in large numbers to witness the new signings from both clubs in action.

Asia Nakibuka made history by becoming the first player to score in the new season, netting a header in the 41st minute off a well-weighted cross from Samalie Nakacwa.

This gave Kawempe Muslim Ladies the lead, but Kampala Queens were quick to respond.

After Kampala Queens made two tactical substitutions, introducing Jolly Kobusinge and Peace Muduwa, they managed to level the score just seven minutes later.

Esther Namusoke delivered a corner kick that Ainembabazi nodded to the far post, where Peace Muduwa set up Kamiyat Naigaga to slot home the equalizer.

Galvanized by the equalizer, Kawempe Muslim pushed forward in search of a winner and looked the more threatening side in the final stages.

However, they were repeatedly denied by a resolute Kampala Queens defense.

At the final whistle, both sides settled for a point, with Kampala Queens sitting atop the table.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will travel to face Olila High School WFC on Saturday, October 11 in their next fixture, while Kampala Queens will host Makerere University WFC on the same day.

Saturday, October 4:

– She Corporate FC vs. Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC: FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru – 10am
