In a nail-biting encounter at the Lutoboka Ssaza ground on Saturday, October 4, Kyaggwe Ssaza made history by becoming the first team to secure a spot in the 2025 Masaza Cup semifinals.

The visitors held Ssese to a 1-1 stalemate in the return leg, enough to see them through to the next round with a 3-1 aggregate score.

Ssese had their fans on the edge of their seats as they took the lead in the first half, sparking hopes of a dramatic comeback.

However, their dreams were shattered when David Mugalu’s clinical strike around the 60th minute leveled the game and sealed Kyaggwe’s fate.

The Kyaggwe camp erupted in jubilation as the final whistle blew, knowing they’ve done enough to progress.

The win sets up an intriguing semifinal matchup for Kyaggwe, who will face the winner of the Busujju vs Buweekula clash.

Buweekula will look to build on their 1-0 first-leg advantage when they host Busujju on Sunday, October 5.

In other quarterfinal matches, Mawokota will take on Ssingo after a goalless draw in the first leg, while Buluuli hosts Bugerere in a bid to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

The stage is set for thrilling encounters as the Masaza Cup competition heats up!
