AUUS ELECTIONS: Who is Patrick Ssebuliba seeking re-election as General Secretary

Patrick Ssebuliba, a renowned lecturer and sports enthusiast at Victoria University, officially announced his bid for re-election as General Secretary of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS).

The elections, scheduled for September 26, 2025, at Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono, will determine the leadership of AUUS for the next four years.

With more than two decades of experience in sports management, Ssebuliba has established himself as a seasoned sports administrator.

His impressive background includes:

He holds a diploma in Marketing, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and a Master’s degree in Education Management.

Ssebuliba has a professional experience of 25 years as a sports administrator at Nkumba University, where he led the institution to win over 318 trophies across various sports disciplines.

The seasoned sports administrator has  notable achievements dating back to his time at Nkumba University’s sports teams where he achieved significant success under his leadership, including national basketball league titles, national league titles, and East Africa University Games wins.

His current role is a General Secretary post of AUUS since 2004 and Sports Coordinator at Victoria University

Ssebuliba’s Vision

If re-elected, Ssebuliba aims to continue serving AUUS, building on his experience and knowledge in sports management and organization.

His vision includes;

Continuity and Growth: Working with the new executive to bring more universities into AUUS and broaden competitions to enrich campus life beyond academics

-Improved Sports Facilities: Advocating for better sports facilities and increased support for student-athletes to reach professional levels.

Ssebuliba will face off against Agnes Baluka Masajja of Busitema University in the General Secretary race.

Meanwhile, the presidential election will pit Kyambogo University’s George Wagoogo against the same Agnes Baluka Masajja.
