In a significant move, KCCA FC has officially announced the re-signing of experienced defender Herbert Achayi on a two-year deal.

Achayi, who left the club as a free agent last season, returns to Lugogo after his contract with Express FC expired.

The versatile defender, who can play across the backline, brings a wealth of experience and depth to the Kasasiro Boys’ squad.

During his recent stint with Express FC, Achayi featured in 22 matches, playing 1980 minutes and averaging 90 minutes per game.

Achayi’s return is a reunion for both the player and the club, having started his career at the KCCA FC Soccer Academy before being promoted to the senior side in 2017.

He spent seven years with the senior team before departing at the end of the 2023/24 season.

“I’m excited to be back home,” Achayi said in an interview with the club’s official website.

This club holds a special place in my heart, and I’m happy to have the opportunity to represent KCCA FC once again. I’m ready to give my all, work hard, and go again one more time.”

Achayi’s signing is the third addition to the club in the primary transfer window, following the arrivals of Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Lazaro Muhindo.

Currently, Achayi is in camp with the Uganda Cranes ahead of the CHAN 2024 tournament.

The KCCA FC family welcomes Achayi back to the club and looks forward to a successful journey together once again. With his experience and versatility, Achayi is set to play a crucial role in the team’s quest for top honors in the upcoming season.
