The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys football championship in Ngora district has reached its third match day, with teams battling it out for a spot in the round of 32.

The day’s action was capped off with the official opening ceremony, which featured a highly anticipated match between host school Ngora High and Kyadondo SS.

Kyadondo SS emerged victorious, thanks to a solitary goal from Thomas Ogema, securing a 1-0 win and qualifying for the next phase with a game to spare.

Other teams that have confirmed their spot in the round of 32 include multiple champions St Mary’s SS Kitende, who edged out Ssaku SS 2-0, and Bukedea Comprehensive, who thrashed Ndejje SS 5-0.

Other notable results from the day include Mvara SS’s 3-0 win over Lubongo Army, Quality High School Buikwe’s 2-0 victory over St Gerald SS, and Highway SS Kiganda’s 2-0 win over St Mary’s College Rushoroza.

Lagwai Seed School also secured a 2-1 win over Blessed Sacrament Kimanya.

In other matches, Lakeside Masese outpowered Labira Girls 2-1, Buziga Islamic School edged out Luweero SS 1-0, and Kabalega SS drew 1-1 with Uganda Martyrs Lubaga.

Reigning champions St Julian High School has also qualified for the round of 32 after winning their first two matches.

The matches will continue on Friday, with teams vying for a spot in the round of 32.

The round of 32 matches will be played on Saturday, May 10, 2025, and the eliminated schools will compete in classification duels until the final day of the championship.
