STAHIZA Secures First Win at USSSA Girls Football Championship

Wakiso District-based Standard High School-Zzana (STAHIZA) has registered its first win at the ongoing Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) girls football National championship in Bukedea.

STAHIZA emerged victorious in a thrilling Group N match, beating Masaka SS 2-1.

Liliana Asianzu and Doreen Kabasinguzi scored the winning goals for the Zana-based side.

In another match, Uganda Martyrs High, the runners-up from the Kampala zone, thrashed Masindi Army SS 6-1.

Other results from the day’s games included Binyinyi’s 2-1 loss to Maracha Domestic, while Kongunga High School and Restore Leadership settled for a goalless draw.

Tororo Girls SS won a five-goal thriller against Acaba SS, 3-2, and Nkoma of Mbale secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Kashenshero.

In other matches, Highland High School edged out Kobwin Seed 1-0, while King of Kings claimed a 1-0 win over Bishop Comboni College, courtesy of Dorothy Musimenta’s decisive goal.

The games were paused this afternoon to make way for the official opening ceremony, which is set to kick off soon at Bukedea Comprehensive School Stadium.

The ceremony will feature an exciting girls’ football match between host Bukedea Comprehensive School and Gulu High School.
