In a thrilling conclusion to the 2025 UMEA Games Netball tournament, Greenlight Islamic Secondary School-Nansana has emerged as the champion, edging out Hamdan Islamic 22-21 in a fiercely contested final match.

The final, played at Namagabi Secondary School, was a high-intensity affair, with both teams displaying exceptional skill and determination.

The crowd was electric, and the emotions on display were palpable.

Greenlight Islamic’s journey to the championship was impressive, having defeated Kaddugala Secondary School 22-11 in the semifinals.

They had also eliminated hosts Namagabi SS 23-17 in the quarterfinals and Masaka SS 28-14 in the round of 16.

Hamdan Islamic, on the other hand, made a remarkable run to their first-ever final, defeating Kibuli Secondary School 24-22 in the semifinals.

In the quarterfinals, they pulled off a stunning upset, beating defending champions Kawanda SS 26-23.

The 2025 UMEA Games Netball tournament, which featured 29 teams, commenced on April 17th at Namagabi Secondary School in Kayunga District and culminated in Greenlight Islamic’s championship win on April 21st.
