Mandela Group of Companies, through their esteemed brand Linglong Tire, has fulfilled its promise by awarding the third electric car to a fortunate customer, Kyeyune Godfrey, as part of their ongoing campaign launched in July last year.

The winner, a teacher and mechanical engineer, was announced during a draw held on January 16, 2025, at the Mandela Group head offices in the Industrial Area.

Kyeyune Godfrey received the ceremonial key to his brand-new, 100% electric car at an event held at the Kamwokya City Oil branch on Saturday.

To participate in the campaign, customers were required to purchase at least two Linglong tires or utilize services at different City Oil branches, followed by entry into the draw to win the car.

According to Mandela Group, two more electric cars are up for grabs.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Linglong Tire Executive Director Wang from China and the Chairman of Mandela Group, Omar Mandela.

Kyeyune Godfrey expressed his gratitude towards Mandela Group, praising their transparency and exceptional hospitality.

“I am truly grateful to have won this car, as it is my first time winning through such a campaign”. Kyeyune stated.

“I appreciate Mandela Group’s transparency, which sets them apart from other campaigns I’ve participated in. I’ve been dealing with Mandela Group for ten years, and I commend their quality service and outstanding hospitality.”

Although Kyeyune Godfrey did not receive the car immediately, the company assured that he will take possession of the vehicle within a few days, once all logistics are finalized.

Previous winners of the campaign include John Bosco Mugisha and Florence, a resident of Mbale.

The electric car, when fully charged, boasts an impressive range of over 300 kilometers.

While charging at home takes approximately eight hours, City Oil and the Ugandan government have initiated the establishment of charging centers across the country.

These state-of-the-art facilities, such as the one at City Oil Kamwokya, can fully charge the car in just 30 minutes.
