The Netball Normalisation Committee is set to hand over office to the newly elected Netball Uganda executive on December 27th, 2024, ahead of the initially scheduled date of December 31st, 2024.

This transition marks a significant milestone, as the Normalisation Committee was established in November 2023 to address governance and operational challenges within the Uganda Netball Federation (UNF).

The committee’s tenure has been criticized for failing to organize key netball activities, such as the National Netball League.

Additionally, the process of drafting a new constitution for Netball Uganda was marred by controversy, with reports indicating that district delegates and media were excluded from deliberations.

Despite these challenges, the new executive is expected to revitalize the sport, with key priorities including:

– Reviving the National Netball League
– Developing and Approving the 2025 Activity Calendar and Financial Year Budget
– Establishing Clear Structures for Governance and Operations

Stakeholders are optimistic that the new executive will address these pressing issues and restore confidence in the administration of netball in Uganda.

In a related development, allowances for the Uganda She Cranes players who participated in the 2024 Africa Netball Cup have finally been cleared.
