SC Villa have a chance to break into the top four of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League today when they host newcomers Lugazi FC at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Coming into this game, Villa lost 1-2 to NEC FC in their previous game, while Lugazi came from behind to force a 1-1 draw with KCCA FC.

However, Morley Byekwaso’s boys thrashed Wakiso Giants 6-1 in their last home game.

Lugazi played to a goalless draw in their previous away game against Police FC in Kavumba.

Speaking to the media, Lugazi FC assistant coach Oliver Mbekeka expressed optimism that her team would get a positive result from Wankulukuku.

“We’ve worked hard for this game, especially on the character of our players, and I believe they will fight and get a positive result,” Mbekeka said.

“We’re not going to respect Villa despite their history, because that’s in the past. Nowadays, players are the same. We did the same against KCCA in our last game and failed to kill off the chances to win the game. We need to win and climb more places on the table.” She concluded

Lugazi will be without Rogers Adriko, who is out due to suspension after accumulating cards. However, the rest of the squad is available for selection.

SC Villa will be without Braddy Jeans Wokorach, Ronald Ssekiganda and Elvis Ngonde.

Fresh from winning the best player award for the month of November, SC Villa and league joint-top scorer Charles Lwanga, with seven goals, will be looking to add to his tally.

A win for Villa will take them to fourth position with 17 points, only six behind the table leaders.

For Lugazi, a win will take them to 11th position with 14 points, level with the 9th and 10th teams.

Meanwhile, Kitara FC will be hosting newcomers Mbale Heroes this evening.
