UYFA National championship Qualifiers: Della Torre are Luweero Sub-region Kings

Della Torre Football Academy are Luweero Sub-region double champions after their successful triumph in both U13 and U15 boys in the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) 2024 qualifiers.

The Kasaala based Academy were crowned as Luweero Sub-region Kings after winning the two trophies in a one day tournament held at their home Kasaala Catholic Parish Grounds.

 

The Luweero Sub-region giant successfully defended the two crowns they won last year.

In the U13 category, Della Torre football academy beat Menta Soccer Academy 1-0 in the final to win this year’s championship.

Young star Pius Omabe scored the only goal in the final to help Della Torre to defend the trophy.

The U13 tournament attracted six academies from across the Luweero Sub-region.

In the U15 category, Della Torre Football Academy was unbeaten is a  six team Round-Robin tournament.

They (Della Torre) won 1-0 in all the tournament games. They scored five times and conceded zero to undisputedly establish their might in the Sub-region.

Della Torre Football Academy U13 and U15 boys and Talent Platform girls football teams will represent the Greater Luweero Sub-region at the Buganda regional qualifiers.

Buganda regional qualifiers will be held this December. This tournament will bring together all teams from the four Sub-regions that make up Buganda.

Only regional winners across the different age categories in both boys and girls from the eight (8) football regions of Buganda, Northern, Kitara, Eastern, Kampala, West Nile and North-East will feature at this year’s National championship.

This year’s National championship will be hosted by Buganda Region at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru, Buikwe District.
