Sadiq Ssempigi’s Lugazi FC is brace with a though StarTimes Uganda Premier League debut tie against Kitara.

Newbies (Lugazi) face Kitara FC who is among the favorites to win this year’s title. Kitara finished fourth last season but triumphed in the Stanbic Uganda Cup to represent Uganda at the CAF Confederations Cup.

“We are confident ahead of our season opener. We know the threat they can cause and the plan is to handle every minute of the game keenly.

Kitara is a better side and. They have had very good games in the preseason featuring in the FUFA Super 8 and the continental outings.

“They are very ambitious, play well and they have fared well in the market – they really have good players who I think will give us a very tough challenge.” Ssempigi.

Lugazi who lost only one big league game at home will look forward to maintain their home advantage.  Sam Ssemugugu and company will have to perform at their best is they are to make any statements.

At the back, they will hope to keep the attacking duo of Denis Omedi and Jude Ssemugabi silent through the 90 minutes.
