Despite the fact that three of their starting XI players tested positive for COVID-19, CATDA FC managed a comfortable beat 2-0 win against Edgar’s FC in the Kampala Regional league playoff game held at FUFA Technical Center Njeru on Thursday.

Players who tested COVID-19 positive include; Ronald Sekiganda, Frank Sebanenya and James Ssenabulya.

Ivan Mayanja has been the hero of the day, scoring a brace for his side to book a final for Saturday’s tie against Luweero United in a pursuit to storm FUFA Big League.

The first stanza went to a barren draw, however, the last 30 minutes of the game turned in  CATDA’s favor.

In the 76th minute, Ivan Mayanja gave the Lufula boys, a lead with a rebound before doubling the lead three minute to final whistle with a scorcher that hit the top corner of the roof to as CATDA settled for a 2-0 win.

CATDA is to face Luweero United who earlier on the day eliminated Buwambo United 4-2 in shootouts following a goalless draw in Buganda regional league playoff to determine who joins Big League the coming season.

This final is scheduled for Saturday at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru
