National and East African Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) champions St. Mary’s Kitende have faced an early exit from Buganda Cup.

The Entebbe Road based side exited the championship after a painful goalless draw against minors Lubiri Secondary.

Played at Mbogo Mixed Secondary School Grounds on Saturday evening, Kitende parted ways with luck after failing to convert the many chances they created on the evening.

The draw followed the first over other minors Cityland College – Mattuga.

The result meant Kitende failed to win and score a goal to occupy the three teamed group bottom with only two points.

Cityland College and Lubiri SS qualified to the round of 16 on a goal scored each after the two’s 1-all draw in the group.

Meanwhile, Janan Schools have also advanced to knockout stage after their two wins against Blasio Konde Memorial (3-0) and another 3-0 against St. Julian Gayaza.

Following their goalless draw in the opening game against host Kawanda SS, Janan Schools top the group with seven points.

Hosts Kawanda SS have also reached the knockout stage. They beat Blasio Konde by 2-0 and a 3-0 win against St. Julian Gayaza to register the same number of points with Janan Schools who leads the group on goal difference advantage.

The fate of most team will be decided in their final group games tomorrow, to complete the knockout puzzle.
