KCCA FC stages greatest comeback to overcome Express FC

Isaac Wagoina, substitute John Asiimwe and Marvin Oshaba scored the three Express FC goals.

Ettiene Katenga opened the scoring to send KCCA FC in early lead just seconds after kick-off.

However, Express quickly responded to level scores through Isaac Wagoina in the 23rd minute.


Wagoina hit the back of the net with a sublime connection off Isma Kawawulo superb delivery into the area.

John Asiimwe put the host into a 2-1 lead in 26 minutes of the game before Marvin Oshaba made it 3-1 for Express FC in the 30th minute.

Early in the second stanza, KCCA started a fightback scoring through Muhammad Shaban when he connected home Shraf Mugume’s cross.


Late into the game (87 minutes), Mugume scored the third for the yellow boys to tune fans to jubilation and celebrants’ mood as the score turned 3-3.

90 minutes off the kick-off, Usamah Arafat Kiiza scored the winner for KCCA in the late dramatic turn of events.


The win ascended KCCA to ninth position with 23 points in 17 matches, whilst the Red Eagle sit 8th on 25 points.

KCCA will return to action against league second placed Kitara FC on February 23rd at Lugogo.


Meanwhile Express FC will be on road to Kavumba Recreation Grounds to face Soltilo Bright Stars FC on 22nd in their next engagement.
