against Cameroon in the qualifiers of the 2024 FIFA Women’s World Cup return leg to advance to the next qualification round.

St. Girl Secondary School’s Sylvia Kabene, Esther Nangendo and Agnes Nabukenya (Kawempe) were on target for the Teen Cranes to hamble Cameroon before their home fans in Yaunde.

The game was held at Stade de Ngoa Ekele Stadium in Yaunde on Friday, 9th February 2024.

Uganda progressed to the next qualification round on a 4-2 aggregate.
The two sides played for a 1-1 draw in the first leg last Saturday, 3rd at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Speed merchant Sylvia Kabene sent the Teen Cranes into a 23rd minute lead when she latched on a loose ball to net in an empty net.

Three minutes later, Nangendo added a second as she scored directly from a well delivered corner.

Gigantic forward Agnes Nabukenya sealed the win via a perfectly taken free-kick for Uganda to advance.

Uganda will face either neighbours Tanzania or Zambia in the third qualification round.

Dominican Republic will host this 8th edition final tournament starting on 16th October to 3rd November 2024.

16 teams from six Confederations will feature in the finals.
