Isaac Ssenyunja scored a double to sink University of Kisubi (UNIK) as Bugema leapfrogged Uganda Martyrs who have a game in hand to the top of group A table.

The 3-0 win for Bugema University was held at Entebbe on Monday evening, the 23rd of October 2023.

Bugema University complete a double over UNIK having won the first leg by 5-0.

Isaac Ssenyunja scored a brace as Sulaiman Ali Ssentongo netted the other.

In the 37th  minute, Isaac Ssenyunja beautifully headed to the far post to earn Bugema a 1-0 lead.

Late in the second half, Ssenyunja completed his brace seven minutes after break.

Sulaiman Ali Ssentongo sealed the 3-0 victory with an 86th  minute strike as the East African University Games champions smiled home with three (3) points.

Bugema University moved to nine points in four games atop of group A table.

A win for Uganda Martyrs in Kabale tomorrow will change the order as Bugema will pave way for UMU to the top.

A win for Bugema in the remaining two fixtures will secure them a place quarter-finals.

University of Kisubi are still in search for their first point this season. They currently occupy the table bottom.
