Ihefu SC., a Tanzanian top tier side have appointed former Uganda Cranes assistant coach Moses Basene as their new head coach.

Basena has replaced Zuber Katwila, who recently parted ways with the club following unsatisfying results during his reign at the club.

The development came to lime light on Monday, the 16th October 2023 in a statement posted on their official communication platforms.

“Our club has reached an agreement with Ugandan Coach Moses Basena to lead our team as the Head Coach.

Basena is a highly regarded coach in East Africa and will now head our technical bench.” Reads a statement from the club’s official communication platforms.

Ihefu SC. was promoted to Tanzanian Premier league in 2022/23 season.

They are currently eighth (8th) placed on the table  with six points in five games.

Basena has served as Milutin Sredojevic  (Micho’s) assistant at the Uganda Cranes team for two stints.

The duo also worked together during their prime days at Uganda’s historical side SC. Villa in early 2000s.

The tactician (Basena) also coached URA FC, Sunrise of Rwanda, Express FC, Simba SC in Tanzania, The Saints, KCCA FC and UPDF FC.
