The Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) has successfully organized a one day training workshop for top boxing referees and Judges (R/J) in the country.

The one-day training was held at College Inn in Wandegeya on Thursday, 5th October 2023.

The workshop attracted 35 Referees and Judges from across the country. This follows the Coaches workshop which was held a day before at the same venue.

Uganda boxing federation president Moses Muhangi in his capacity as an International technical officer was among others the chief facilitator.

Tony Ssekabira (Coach), Steven Fula Achiga (RJ), Moses Mugaga (RJ) were the other facilitators.

The workshop aimed at fine tuning referees and Judges in decision making, scoring systems, Bouts review, fouls called, cautions, warnings and disqualification.

At the workshop, the duties of referees and Judges have been clearly identified to avoid the continuing confusion on who does what during a bout.
