2025 AUUS Games Netball Championship draws pit top teams together

The stage is set for an exciting 2025 Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) Games Netball Championship, with the draws pitting last edition’s champions Victoria University against three other opponents in Group A.

The group also features Nkumba University, Bishop Stuart University, and St. Lawrence University, promising a thrilling contest for supremacy.

Victoria University, who edged Uganda Christian University (UCU) 51-50 after extra time in the 2023 final, will be looking to defend their title.

Group B is packed with talent, featuring Kampala University, Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST), Makerere University, and Kyambogo University.

Hosts UCU are in Group C, alongside Makerere Business School (MUBS), Bugema University, and Gulu University.

The one-week Inter-University Games start today, Friday, December 18, 2025, with the arrival of teams, and conclude on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, with the awarding ceremony at Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

Last year’s overall champions, Ndejje University, will be looking to defend their title, having scooped eight gold medals in the 19th Edition of the AUUS Games.

UCU, who came second, will be hoping to leverage their strength in team sports to claim the top spot.

The AUUS Games have a rich history, with past winners including Ndejje University, Makerere University, and KIU.
