Defender Hillary Mukunde scored the decisive goal in the 13th minute, thanks to an assist from Abdul Watambala.

This win marks a historic moment for Vipers SC, as it’s their first away victory at this stage in the competition.

The Ugandan side has shown remarkable improvement in their away performances, with this win boosting their confidence and motivation.

Vipers SC now holds a strong position, needing only to avoid defeat in the second leg to secure their place in the final qualification round before the group stages.

The return leg is scheduled for September 27, 2025, at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
