Vipers SC solidified their pursuit of a domestic double this season, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over FUFA Big League side Blacks Power at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The win catapulted the Venoms into the Uganda Cup quarterfinals, joining an elite group of teams vying for the coveted title.

The match got off to an inauspicious start for Blacks Power, who arrived late at the venue due to traffic congestion.

Their struggles continued on the pitch, as Yunus Sentamu opened the scoring in the 30th minute with a well-placed volley, courtesy of a precise assist from Pedro Sukuya.

Sentamu reprised his role as provider in the second half, setting up Sukuya to double the lead on the hour mark.

The outcome was effectively sealed two minutes later, as Livingstone Mulondo headed home from Sukuya’s corner, rendering the result beyond doubt.

Currently leading the Uganda Premier League by a five-point margin ahead of NEC, Vipers SC is now firmly focused on capturing a fourth Uganda Cup title.

Having previously lifted the trophy in the 2015/16, 2019/20, and 2022/23 seasons, the Venoms are poised to make a deep run in the competition.

With this victory, Vipers SC joins a distinguished group of quarterfinalists, including Kitara, Police, SC Villa, KCCA, BUL, Kaaro Karungi, and Kataka, as the Uganda Cup enters its decisive stages.
