SC Villa’s quest for a win continues after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Police FC in a thrilling Uganda Premier League encounter at the Wankulukuku Stadium on Friday evening.

Patrick Jonah Kakande’s penalty strike was canceled out by Brian James Obedi’s late spot-kick, leaving Villa winless in their last three outings.

Reagan Matege’s foul on Charles Lwanga in the box presented SC Villa with a golden opportunity to take the lead.

Kakande stepped up and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute. The hosts maintained their slim advantage until the halftime break.

The second half saw Police FC gain momentum, with Meddie Kibirige making a spectacular save to deny Isaac Ogwang’s powerful free kick.

The introduction of Denis Iguma proved pivotal for the visitors, as they began to dominate proceedings.

Brian James Obedi squandered two glorious chances to level the scores, but his persistence eventually paid off.

With seven minutes remaining, substitute Gerrald Ogweti was fouled inside the box, and Police FC was awarded a penalty. Obedi made no mistake, converting the spot-kick to bring the visitors level.

In a dramatic finale, Ogweti spurned a golden opportunity to snatch all three points for Police FC, but his effort was saved by goalkeeper Kibirige.

The 1-1 draw means SC Villa has dropped points in their third consecutive game. Police FC, meanwhile, moves up to 5th place with 17 points, while SC Villa occupies 8th spot with 16 points.

The Uganda Premier League action continues on Saturday evening with a mouth-watering clash between Vipers and BUL FC in Kitende.
