The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games I girls’ basketball draws took place at the USSSA Offices on Friday, May 3rd, setting the stage for an exciting tournament.

Forty-eight teams will compete in eight groups of six teams each, vying for the top prize.

Defending champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende will begin their title defense in Group A, facing stiff competition from St. Lawrence High School, Tororo Girls, Bishop Cyprian Kihangire, Seeta High School Main, and Nakinoni SS.

Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, the first runners-up last year and favorites to win this year’s title, will look to improve their performance in Group F.

They will face challenges from Nyakasura School, Lubiri SS, Amus College, Kisubi Mapeera, and St. Cyprian Kyabakadde.

Another strong contender, Nabisunsa Girls, was drawn in Group D alongside Sacred Heart Gulu, debutants Zana Mixed, Mvara, Mandela SS, and Seeta High A Level.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from April 4th to 15th, with basketball matches specifically being played at Amus College School, despite the main tournament being hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive at various venues.
