Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club imposed a slim tax onto Soltilo Bright Stars winning 1-0 to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat against KCCA FC in the opener.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s first-half strike from a Moses Aliro cross secured URA FC their first win of the 2024/25 season.

The 1-0 victory for URA FC over Soltilo Bright Stars was held at Kavumba Recreation Ground in Wakiso City.

The URA FC coached Alex Isabirye, handed debuts to Isma Mugulusi and Abraham Tusubira who joined the club in the concluded transfer window.

Mugulusi impressed, controlling the midfield with his creativity while new additions from the previous starting line up against KCCA FC Hudu Mulikyi, Faizal Matovu and Emmanuel Okech also featured.

Bright Stars pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half but URA goalkeeper Derrick Ochan made crucial saves to deny efforts from Nelson Ssenkatuka, Noordin Bunjo and Marvin Youngman.

URA FC who moved to the 8th position on three points will look to build on this victory when they host Mbarara City on September 28, 2024 at Nakivubo Stadium.

The loss kept Soltilo Bright Stars on one point in the 13th place. Bright Stars drew 1-1 with their neighbors Wakiso Giants in their first game of the season at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

In their next outing, Bright Stars will be away to hosts Police FC at Kavumba on Tuesday, the 24th September.
