Express FC head coach James Odoch claims that his charges are lacking fitness following their one-all stalemate against UPDF FC.

The Red Eagles kicked off their second round in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with a 1-1 draw against UPDF FC at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Saturday.

Allan Kayiwa put the hosts ahead in the 74th minute with a diving header off Joshua Musoke’s wonderful delivery from down the left.

The visitors equalised at the death mark through Musa Aluma Oscar in the 89th minute to deny the Red Eagles the victory.

“We conceded a sloppy goal and I think from the general perspective of the game the players are still lacking fitness but I believe that we are going keep improving it was good to return with a point and we shall build on that going into our game,” Head Coach James Odoch said.

A draw meant that the seven-time champions of the UPL remained in the ninth position on the 15-team log with 18 points.

They will return to league action on February 26th away to URA FC but for now, the focus will turn to the Uganda Cup Round of 32 against Lugazi FC on Sunday, February 19th at Wankulukuku.
