Vipers SC will be keen to put up a strong display against Busoga United on Tuesday as they bid to end the StarTimes Uganda Premier League first round on a high note.

The Venoms head into the tie on the back of recent uncharacteristic results having won just two of the past four matches, and, skipper Milton Karisa has rallied his troops to show more character going forward.

“I think if it was one easy fix you’d know and you’d fix it. Obviously, to be a successful football team, there are so many little things you need to do well,” Karisa said on Monday.

“And, at this moment in time, we’re not doing enough of those consistently enough. We have shown very good performances this year, but we haven’t had that consistency this month and that’s something we need to improve.”

“I think the next game is always the one we focus on and one where you can start a good run and get that consistency and confidence back.”

“I think the performances we have had, some very good performances this year as well, [so] we know it’s not too far off, but it’s important we keep delivering every game.”

“It has been an intense start to the season, it has been quite hard to get the rhythm with a few players being out and not getting a settled line-up. That is something we have to deal with – and deal with better,” noted Karisa.

“The beauty of having so many games in such a short space of time, it is a great chance for us to go out there and start putting it right,” he added.

The bout at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru will see the Venoms take on a side with which they hold absolute dominion.

In the past 11 meetings since 2016, we have had eight victories, lost just once as two games ended in stalemates.

Abdu Lumala is back ahead of the match and included in the 18 man squad to face Busoga United.

Congolese forward Darcy Mbaka is also available after reporting back from France this week. He missed two games against Express FC and BUL FC.

Bright Anukani is suspended for the game after accumulating three yellow cards.

Team Captain Milton Karisa is out of the game after suffering a knock in their last game against BUL FC at St Mary’s Stadium.

Too soon for Yunus Sentamu, Alfred Mudekereza and Dissan Galiwango who are back in training but still undergoing rehabilitation process.

Murushid Juuko, Livingstone Mulondo and Paul Mucureezi are still unavailable through respective injuries.
