UPL Pilsner Awards: Custodian Simon Tamale dominant as 2022/23 season best nominees revealed

Vipers SC head coach Alex Isabirye, former SC Villa’s Jackson Magera and Muhammad Senfuma of Maroons FC are the nominees for the Pilsner coach of the season award.

Isabirye helped Vipers SC defend the Uganda Premier League title a side he joined in the second round.

Magera led Villa to finishing third loosing the title on the last day of the season after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Maroons.

Senfuma helped Maroons finish sixth in league with 41 points

Simon Tamale of Maroons, Vipers’ captain Milton Kariisa and Charles Bbale of Villa will compete for the player of the season.

Bbale scored 12 goals for the record champions ye was a goal behind the league’s top scorer Allan Kayiwa.

Tamale’s outstanding performance saw Maroons finish sixth while Kaliisa helped his side to defend the title scoring eight goals.

URA FC captain and goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi, Hassan Matovu of Soltilo Bright Stars and Simon Tamale are competing for the best goalkeeper of the season.

Midfielder of the season competition is among Gadafi Wahab of Arua Hill SC, Lawrence Bukenya of Wakiso Giants and Laban Tibita of Busoga United.
