Express FC head coach James Odoch has lauded his side after they registered their maiden victory in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League this season.

The Red Eagles registered its first win of the 2022/23 Startimes Uganda Premier League season courtesy of a 1-0 home victory over URA FC on Saturday.

Allan Kayiwa scored the all-important goal from a free kick at the restart of the second half which was also his second goal in two games in the Express colours.

“I want to thank our players for the game they’ve played, it is one we wanted to win and we’ve achieved it. Focus is now on our next game against SC Villa away and I know we will win it.”

“Allan Kayiwa is a key player and he will be among the top scorers this season,” Odoch said.

Saturday’s victory took the Red Eagles into fourth place on the 15-team Uganda Premier League log with four points from two games.

Express will return to action on Friday, October 14 away to arch-rivals SC Villa on matchday three.
