KCCA FC shared spoils with prisons side Maroons FC at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Saturday evening.

The visitors, Maroons took an early lead courtesy of Fred Amaku who nodded past Derrick Ochan in the 8th minute.

In the 25th minute, Okello curled in a beautiful corner kick that found Peter Magambo unmarked at the far post but the lanky man’s header hit the ground and bounced over the cross bar.

At the stroke of halftime, Okello’s well weighted ball was headed in goal by Rogers Mato at the far post to restore parity.

After recess, Moses Waiswa and Julius Poloto replaced Ashraf Mugume and Charles Lwanga.

Four minutes later Peter Magambo was cautioned for a foul on Ceasor Olega.

Morley Byekwaso made another change, introducing Saidi Mayanja for Magambo and later bringing Ssenoga Muhammad for Rogers Mato in the 52nd and 65th minute.

In the 72nd minute, Poloto teed up Okello but the latter’s first time shot was saved by Maroons’ Tamale.

Three minutes later, Poloto teed up Mayanja whose first time effort whistled off the upright.

The result saw KCCA drop two crucial points and fail to reclaim the top spot of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League table.

They remain second on 36 points, one behind SC Villa, who have played two games more than KCCA while Maroons are eighth on 26 points after 19 matches.
