Express FC completed their league double over Onduparaka FC in a mouth watering encounter at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku on match day 20 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

With a margin of four goals put past the caterpillars, the Red Eagles put a stop to their winless run of eleven games.

A brace from Allan Kayiwa , a goal from each of Boban Zirintuusa and Marvin Oshaba made the eagles soar past the caterpillars with the later pulling one back through a penalty.

From the first minute of the game, the Red Eagles looked a much better side unlike their opponent and Faisal Ssekyanzi came the closest to goal in minute two.

In the ninth minute Boban failed to convert from the spot after Onduparaka’s Ndifuna handing the ball in the forbidden area.

The boys were hard on possesion until the 24th minute when BOBAN broke the deadlock heading in a free ball off Ngoobi’s chest. Kayiwa also came closest to goal failing to connect with a well curved in cross from Faisal Ssekyanzi.

The Red Eagles went to recess looking much better than the opponents.

After Recess, Odoch’s charges came back with mentality to kill off the game. in 50th minute the Red Eagles were reduced to ten men when Derrick Ngoobi reacted badly after a strong challenge from William Gama.

The red card didn’t deter the boys and in the 69th minute Kayiwa was awarded a penalty after bad Foul from Rashid which he cleansly converted giving the ten men the second of the day.

The manager made changes in play bringing on holding midfielders Alimansi and Musoke taking off Ssekyanzi Faisal and Boban zirintuusa 18 minutes later Kayiwa was fouled at the edge of the box and the free kick was for him to take which he successfully converted.

With three minutes added into play, Oshaba Marvin capitalised on Kayiwa’s through pass to give the red eagles the fourth one of the day.

The opponents pulled one back through Gama William after a penalty awarded to them at the death of the game.

“I thank the boys for the kind of display they had today. I hope this win builds us even more stronger as we head into our next encounter with a stronger side in Bul FC,” Odoch said.

The Red Eagles Will be on a Trip to Jinja in their next encounter taking on BUL FC on Saturday 8th April 2023.
