Uganda Martyrs Lubaga WFC maintained their perfect start to the 2026/27 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League season with a commanding 4–1 victory over Rines SS WFC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, on Sunday.
The Lubaga side secured their second successive victory to move top of the 12-team standings with six points from two matches, establishing themselves as the league’s only side with a 100 per cent winning record.
Auki Angel Kigongo opened the scoring in the 43rd minute, rising highest to head home Brendah Munyana’s cross and give Uganda Martyrs a 1–0 lead at the break.
Sharon Kanyiginya doubled the advantage four minutes after the restart, curling a 49th-minute free-kick into the net to leave Rines facing an uphill battle.
Kigongo then completed her brace in the 70th minute, putting the hosts firmly in command at 3–0.
Rines briefly threatened a comeback when Yasmeen Nalukwago pulled one back in the 81st minute, but Uganda Martyrs responded almost immediately.
Substitute Aidah Namuwonge made an instant impact, restoring the three-goal cushion with the fourth goal.
The victory leaves Uganda Martyrs with seven goals scored and just one conceded after two matches.
For Rines, the defeat extended their difficult start to the campaign, with Swalah Kamya’s side still without a point after consecutive losses.
Uganda Martyrs’ next assignment will be a major early-season test against defending champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, on October 18.
Rines will meanwhile host Amus College WFC, seeking their first points of the campaign.
