Hajara Najjuko and Matrina Anyango led the charge for the UCU Lady Canons in their 68-57 win over KIU Rangers in Game One of the 2025 National Basketball League playoffs.

Both players scored 13 points each, showcasing their impressive skills on the court.

Najjuko’s clutch performances, combined with Anyango’s dominance, helped the Lady Canons maintain a strong lead throughout the game.

The Lady Canons’ victory was a testament to their teamwork and resilience.

Sylivia Nantongo contributed 11 points, while the team’s defense held strong against KIU’s offense.

Despite a late surge from KIU’s Djeneba Ballo, who scored 15 points, the Lady Canons remained composed and controlled the game.

The loss puts pressure on KIU Rangers ahead of Game Two, with the team needing to regroup and strategize to even the series.

Ines Kanyamuneza added 12 points and Sharon Kirabo had 10 for KIU, but their efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Lady Canons’ momentum.

The UCU Lady Canons now lead the best-of-three series 1-0, setting the stage for a thrilling Game Two.
