Transfers: Vipers confirms the signing of Ashraf Mandela
Vipers Sports Club have announced the re-signing of right-back Ashraf Mandela on a two-year employment contract. Vipers Sports Club have announced the re-signing of right-back Ashraf Mandela on a two-year employment contract.

Mandela returns to St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende having left in 2018 upon his own request.

It’s worth mentioning that Mandela is also a St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende graduate where he featured till 2015.

In the 2018/19 season, he joined SC Villa before moving to URA FC a year later, where he spent three campaigns.

“Many people will ask me why I came back to this palace,” he said during his unveiling.

“You know l call it a palace because it’s number one in East Africa and moreover, we are chasing to be number one in Africa. I call this a come back because l was once here, left and now am back here.”

“I was here as a boy and now, l come back as a man ready to compete. This is a place where my dream started and l want it to continue here,” Mandela he added.

The roving right-back becomes Vipers’ fifth signing after Isa Mubiru, Marvin Joseph Youngman, Olivier Omadjondo Osomba and goalkeeper Alfred Macumu Mudekereza.
