Uganda’s U17 Women’s National Team delivered a composed and authoritative performance to sweep past Kenya 3-0 on Sunday, sealing a place in the final of the CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship.

Driven by purpose and precision, the Teen Cranes asserted control early and never relinquished it.

Shadia Nabirye set Uganda on course with a well-taken opener before Immaculate Acen doubled the advantage to put the contest beyond Kenya’s reach.

Any lingering hopes of a comeback were extinguished when defender Jael Samiyu turned the ball into her own net.

Beyond progression, the result carried added significance. It marked a measure of redemption for Uganda, who were knocked out by the same opponents in last month’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

With momentum firmly on their side, Uganda will now turn attention to Tuesday’s final, where they will face hosts Tanzania who beat South Sudan 4-0 in the second semi-final.
