Vipers’ dominance in the 2021/2022 StarTimes Uganda Premier League is still on following their 2-0 victory against Onduparaka.

Ceasar Lobi Manzoki and Milton Karisa were on target for the eventual champions at AbaBet Greenlight Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Vipers entered this match with nothing much to play for after being confirmed this season’s league champions with four games to play.

Bobosi Byaruhanga had the first shot on goal but it was punched away by goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga in the third minute of the game.

Vipers almost got an opener in the 11th minute as the ball came over from the left for Manzoki, but he put his effort over the bar.

In the 18th minute, Onduparaka’s Ojara tried to chip over Denis Kiggundu but the goalkeeper punched the ball over.

Manzoki finally scored for Vipers in the 33rd minute when Hilary Mukundane clipped a cross into the box afor the striker to head home.

In the 50th minute, Manzoki played a one-two with Karisa before unleashing a terrific strike straight into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Yunus Sentamu almost made it 3-0 as he got his head to the resulting cross from Karisa but the ball went wide.

The result means that Vipers are now on 67 points on the top of the table while Onduparaka is eighth with 34 points with three games remaining.

Vipers needs just three points from the three remaining games to set a new record of most points collected by any team in the Uganda Premier League history.
