Star man Omedi inspires Kitara FC to Super 8 semifinals, Vipers SC squeeze past NEC

Denis Omedi’s  magic was difference as Kitara FC eliminated KCCA FC to reach the FUFA Super 8 semifinals.

The thrilling clash was held on Tuesday, the 6th August evening at MTN-Omondi Stadium.

The contest ended in a 3-3 draw as Kitara progressed to the semi-finals on 4-3 aggregate.

Joel Sserunjogi sent KCCA FC in an early 9th  minute lead, curling the ball from distance to beat goalkeper Crispus Kusiima.

Omedi cut the celebrations short levelling matters a few seconds later with an explicit rabona strike from the right.

In the 36th minute, Omedi assisted Jude Ssemugabi to slot the ball into the bottom left corner turning the score 2-1.

Bright Anukani levelled matters from the spot at the stroke of halftime. The referee penalized Ronald Otti  for shoving Etienne Katenga to the ground.

Ssemugabi scored his second and third goal for Kitara in the 48th minute off Denis Omedi’s ball from the left wing.

Later on, KCCA FC levelled matters to 3-3 throuh defender Muhamood’s  header in the 53rd  minute.

The Royals will now lock horns with Vipers SC in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Vipers SC drew 1–1 against NEC FC in the first game of the day to advance on away goals rule. The first leg in Kitende ended goalless.

Skipper Milton Karisa and Niwamanya scored for Vipers SC and NEC FC respectively.
