SC Villa has moved to the top of the table after securing a narrow 1-0 win over UPDF FC on Tuesday at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.

The Jogoos, who have been in fine form recently, stretched their purple patch to five wins in a row, cementing their position at the summit.

Ibrahim Kasinde was the hero of the match, scoring the lone goal in the 65th minute with a calm finish.

The goal proved to be the decisive moment, as SC Villa held on to secure the three points.

Reagan Mpande came close to doubling the lead, but his effort was thwarted by goalkeeper Abdul Kimera.

With this win, SC Villa now leads the table with 16 points, two ahead of Police FC and KCCA FC, who are yet to play on matchday nine.

The victory is a significant boost for the Jogoos, who have been in impressive form in recent matches.

In other action, Maroons FC eased past Lugazi FC 3-0 in Luzira.

Raymond Walugembe, Jackson Nunda, and Ivan Asaba scored the goals for the Prison Warders, who looked comfortable in their win.

SC Villa’s next match is eagerly awaited, as they look to maintain their winning streak and cement their position at the top of the table.

The 17 record champions will make a short trip to St. Mary’s Stadium to face reigning champions Vipers SC this weekend.
